“7-8 great prospects in the Primavera team, especially with a coach like Christian Chivu”

Inter youth sector director Roberto Samaden believes there are at least seven or eight players in the Nerazzurri’s Primavera squad who have the potential to become big talents in the senior game.

Speaking to Gianliuca Rossi’s YouTube channel, as reported by FCInter1908Samaden expressed his optimism about the prospects for a number of Inter youngsters and also thanked coach Christian Chivu for the important role he has played in their development.

Inter’s Primavera side have enjoyed a very positive campaign in the past season, with Chivu’s first manager winning the Under-19 Championship and showcasing the emerging talents of a number of players such as Cesare Casadei and Franco and Valentin Carboni.

All of the players from the team that won the championship are at slightly different stages of their development, with some ready to enter the senior game and start finding their feet and others needing a little more time in the Primavera.

Regarding the preparation of players for Inter’s first team, Samaden said: “As for the first team, I don’t know if I can think that someone is ready to play for Inter.”

“Being in the first team, however, absolutely,” he continued. “Only the pitch and time will tell. In my opinion, there are seven or eight players with major potential.

And of winning the Under-19 Championship, Samaden said “it’s the result of work that hasn’t just taken place this season, but the whole supply chain of the youth sector” .

“This year’s Primavera captain started playing with us at the age of five,” he continued, “it shows how hard work doesn’t get done in a year.”

“Coming back to this season, we were certainly surprised because we had rebuilt the team,” Samaden explained, “we had started again and we didn’t think we were ready to achieve such a result.”

“But when you work well and when you have a coach like Chivu, something like that that seems like a surprise really isn’t,” he added.

He said: “We had a coach who helped the boys develop well and had the courage to let the younger players play. Roma, like other teams, were more appreciated, but in the end with a bit of luck, a lot of skill and work and a lot of credit from the coach, we managed to get a great result .
