CRDAMC Flu Vaccination Event at the Comanche Youth Center – Fort Hood Press Center

FORT HOOD, Texas – The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center public health nursing team will offer influenza vaccine to all eligible Tricare beneficiaries ages 3 and older at Comanche Youth Center from 9 a.m. to noon on the 4th December.

Due to pediatric dosing guidelines, children under 36 months of age should see their primary care manager for influenza vaccine.

The location of the youth centers is building 52021, boulevard Destroyer de chars, behind the Comanche Express service station.

Beneficiaries must bring a valid ID card from the Ministry of Defense.

The seasonal flu shot is recommended annually for anyone 6 months of age and older, with rare exceptions. People at high risk for complications from the flu include infants, young children, pregnant women, adults 65 years of age and older, residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities, and those who have underlying health problems.

Eligible Tricare beneficiaries can get the flu shot at an approved TRICARE pharmacy or network emergency care clinic. Recipients are encouraged to check the policies and procedures of their preferred pharmacy before obtaining the vaccine. Some pharmacies require a prescription for children under 7 and may not provide flu shots for children under 4. In such cases, parents can get a prescription from their primary care manager, visit a TRICARE network emergency care clinic, walk to the CRDAMC pediatric clinic, or attend any community or pediatric event. flu shot.
