East Hartford Virtual Youth Services Program for Fall 2021 and Winter 2022

East Hartford, CT— The East Hartford Youth Services Department continues to offer both virtual and in-person services and programs. Professional staff and interns in the department provide confidential counseling to youth and their families in a wide variety of areas: individual and family counseling, youth counseling, relationship counseling, crisis intervention, parenting skills, substance abuse, bereavement / loss, anger / behavior management, stress management and coping skills, building socio-emotional skills, building self-confidence / self-esteem / resilience, and building / achieving ‘Goals.   • Zentangle
    October 19, 2021 – June 14, 2022
    6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    Weekly via zoom on Tuesday evening.
    It’s an easy to learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.
    There are no errors in Zentangle! Bring some zen into your life with this fun and creative outing.
    Suitable for almost all ages. Younger people will need more help / practical advice.
    Ideal for families and individuals. Learn new tangles every week !!

  • Talk-It-Out Tuesdays with Anne and Kylah
    Tuesdays 9 and 23 November and 7 and 21 December at 7 p.m.
    For 11-14 year olds.
    It is a virtual space for all young people!
    Each meeting will have a different theme.
    Join us virtually as we discuss ways to become better, connect with others, and grow as individuals.

  • Parents matter, a support group for adults caring for children.
    From January 5, 2022
    Weekly on Wednesday evening
    6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. via Zoom
    Parents and other adults caring for children are welcome to join this discussion and support group. We will talk about the developmental stages that children go through, the common behaviors that children have at different ages, interventions that parents / guardians can use to reduce disruptive behaviors and, overall, support each other. Caring for children is difficult. It’s a space for you to get support and validation for the hard work you do !!
