Learn more about volunteering at Colin’s youth sector

The Colin Youth Strategy Group is hosting a Youth Sector Volunteer Recruitment Night.

The event – Thursday June 23 from 6-8pm in the Dairy Farm Shopping Complex – will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering in Colin’s youth sector to meet staff and volunteers from local youth centers and learn more about youth volunteer opportunities within the local area. Roles include working with street youth, mentoring, fundraising and administration.

Anyone interested in volunteering with a particular youth provider can sign up in the evening to visit the center the following week to explore this opportunity.

Emily Brough, Volunteer Training/Support Coordinator, Colin Neighborhood Partnership and member of the Youth Strategy Group said, “We are very happy to support this event.

“We are extremely keen to support Colin’s thriving youth sector to grow its volunteers, as well as providing fantastic opportunities for locals to volunteer at the youth centers in a variety of roles.”

“Volunteering can bring many benefits to the community and the people who do it, including developing new skills, increasing employability prospects, getting involved in the community, making new friends, having a sense of purpose and improving your well-being. I encourage anyone interested in getting involved in the youth sector to come to the evening to find out more.
