A wonderful opportunity has just opened up at Christ Church Northern Beaches to join the staff team in the area of ​​children and young people. We are looking for a Christian person to help lead and develop leaders to serve in our youth and children’s ministries.

We also hope to introduce an evening service in 2022 and would appreciate the contribution of the successful candidate as we continue this exciting journey. There is also the option to work at Balgowlah Boys for an additional 2 days during the week which is a paid position with the local Anchor SRE Board of Directors.

The position involves:-

To lead and train our lay leaders to lead our kidschurch ministry on a Sunday morning which takes place during our Sunday morning church.

Lead our youth group on a Friday afternoon and continue to develop our leaders.

  • SRE – it will be possible to teach SRE in our 3 local schools and work with our lay team.
  • Set up our holiday Kidsclub to raise awareness in our community.
  • Meet weekly with the senior minister to plan, pray, and strategically reflect on future ministry directions.
  • Preaching opportunities for those who are so gifted.

Key Requirements:-

  • A humble attitude toward service and ministry generally following the teaching of Jesus (Mark 9:30-37)
  • Completed or ongoing degree-level theological training.
  • Ideally, 2 years of experience would be an advantage, but on-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate.

The following are essential for any work with children and young people: –

  • The Safe Anglican Ministry Course
  • Safe control of the Anglican ministry
  • A current WWCC

Remuneration and conditions: –

In accordance with diocesan guidelines and housing is provided.

You would work two weekdays and all of Sunday.
