Valley Youth Center Holding Fudge Fundraiser

DULUTH, Minn. – If you don’t want to make your own treats for the holiday season, Valley Youth Center Duluth can help.

They sell a wide variety of caramels and fudge, with flavors such as chocolate, chocolate nut, rocky road, chocolate peanut butter, maple nut, chewy praline, sea salt caramel, chocolate mint swirl. , chocolate amaretto swirl, pumpkin pie.

All proceeds will go to the day-to-day operations of the center. “We use the money for activities,” says Russ Salgy, director of the agency, “getting the kids to different places. We have vans that help us get around, pay for activity fees, find food for the children after school.

Salgy adds that fundraising is a learning opportunity for their members. “With the kids actively involved, there are sales skills, money management skills. I mean there’s a lot this sales fudge does outside of just bringing the kids to the activities through the Valley Youth Center. We appreciate all the help from the children. They got together, I think there are 20 and are making a contest. I think they are learning real sales and money management skills.

Each half-pound box costs $ 6, sugar-free options cost $ 10. If you can’t make it to the center to buy a box, members will sell on Saturday December 11th outside Super One in West Duluth from 11th to 4th.
